Suspect
嫌疑犯
A person who is imagined or believed to have committed a crime. If a police officer finds any person in any street or other public place, or on board any vessel, or in any conveyance, at any hour of the day or night, who acts in a suspicious manner, it is lawful for the police officer to stop the person for the purpose of demanding proof of identity and to search the person if he considers it necessary to do so: Police Force Ordinance (Cap 232) s 54(1). A customs officer may, without warrant, stop, search and arrest any person whom he reasonably suspects of having committed an offence against the Customs and Excise Service Ordinance: Service Ordinance (Cap 342) s 17A(1).
