explanatory VS. explained

请问：
既然有the Revised Version（圣经修订本）, 那么explanatory notes（注释）可否改写成explained notes，一样正确呢？？

个人意见：
"explanatory notes" means notes that explains something.
"explained notes" means that notes that have explaination attached.

有点像interesting和interested的差别
