odds用柯林斯里的前两条释义是：1）you refer to the proporbility of sth happening as the odds that it will happen.如果你认为是这种解释，odds 就是失败成功都有可能性的意思，即不管成功与否2)if you say that the odds are against sth or someone,you mean that they are unlikely to succeed.如果你认为是这种解释，呢就是一种注定的失败。个人认为第一种解释比较好。
