两个词都有勤奋的意思。如果要区分开，我是这么理解的：hard work 应该就是努力工作，而diligence在海词在线词典上查到的解释有一条是“preserving determination to perform a task",也就是“完成任务的恒心和毅力”，所以diligence在这里可以把它解释为毅力或者恒心吧。但是是否太咬文嚼字了，我就不知道了。
