Purpose of Matrix
The purpose of the Material Matrix for AME/Plant Planning is to establish an MEQ standard, global procedure for packaging and plant material storage requirement, racking requirements, layout configurations for both line side and warehouse storage.
The component description shall be complete and include trim styles and colors, and other raw materials as needed to define all elements needed to manufacture the products for the producing facility.
The Matrix shall represent all items (Description and Part Number) on the engineering "Bills of Material", required to build (component or assemble) the product at the plant. For Component Plants it will include raw material and piece parts needed to prod
Each line, cell or machine must have its own matrix. This allow for detail planning for that area. Use the operation by operation columns as stations or machines in a line.
Assumptions & Mix Sheet
The Assumptions & Mix sheets are linked to the matrix. As the cells on the assumptions sheet are edited or updated, the matrix will be updated.
Calculations
All calculated cells are not locked to allow your plant complete flexibility to input or changes to the systems. It is important not to type over the formula that are present in the form. It is suggested you
save a copy of this file to be able to retrieve formulas if needed.
Custom Reporting or Presentation
The matrix can be customized by the author for evaluations, reports, and presentations, by hiding the columns that are not of interest or value.
Responsibility for the Document
AME will provide some of the data(equipment assumptions), while Program Management will supply the BOM andPurchasing will supply supplier data. The plant has the responsibility to complete the consolidation of the information and implementation of deliverables associated to the document.
