这里的terroring是不是应该是harrowing？

利用google搜索相关新闻，然后查字典看不认识的单词的意思。要搞懂新闻的意思，说通了基本就可以算是懂了。

The crew aboard the International Space Station says it's not worried about the Pentagon's plan to shoot down a damaged spy satellite which could happen as early as next week. It's not clear how close the Space Station will be but its commander says the Pentagon wouldn't put the crew in harm's way.

preliminary就是你查到的这个意思吧。就是表示初步测量得到的数据。

其实AP里的用词很大众化，有些词乍一看字典里的意思和文稿里的有差别，其实只要按照上下文理解变通下就好了~
变通好了再google下相关新闻。可能会找到别的文章的描述或者直接找到该词的同义词，就说明理解正确了。
对于AP我们就要大胆推测~小心求证~

其次，blast本意是爆炸，这里是猛烈抨击的意思，Marriam Webster解释：to attack vigorously

再次，句意是：她和议会委员会调查的一幢生意有关,当时mccain是委员会的成员，这里涉及些背景知识~
她和参议员委员会(实则是参议院商务委员)调查的一幢生意有关,当时mccain是委员会的成员.(暗示他们通过此联系暗生情愫)
relationship呢多指男女暧昧关系~或罗曼关系~

最后，camp解释阵营，集团都可以
