Pope Benedict has ended a six day trip to the United States that included a meeting with President Bush, out door masses and the visit to one of the sites attacked on September 11th, 2001. The pope’s airliner took off from New York Sunday night for the Vatican. Earlier he celebrated a mass in a New York City baseball stadium packed with some 57,000 worshipers.

Iraqi President Jalal Talabani says the main Sunni political bloc will rejoin the Shiite-led ruling coalition after quitting the government last year.
